This 2016 Jameson Sotheby’s top producer has found immeasurable joy helping people buy and sell homes throughout Chicago. Her extensive knowledge of the city, her expert negotiation skills, and network of professionals, including attorneys, lenders and home inspectors, mean her clients can rest assured they are in safe hands. “I work extremely hard so the people I serve can show up to the closing table happy, relaxed and satisfied without the burden of unnecessary stress.”
A 2005 graduate of Indiana University who holds a degree in public and nonprofit management, Conover established her real estate career immediately after college. She sold new construction and condominium conversions for local developers for three years before joining her current company, and then the recession hit. These circumstances allowed her to hone her talent for selling foreclosures, and she averaged 30 distressed property closings each month.
Conover recently transitioned from selling primarily distressed homes to focusing on luxury properties, which has increased her sales volume by 34 percent and her referral rate to 90 percent of her business. Her clients include first- time buyers, empty nesters and buyers relocating to the city. Conover loves introducing all of her clients to the variety of neighborhoods the city offers. In addition, Conover’s staging expertise shines when representing motivated sellers. “I love helping clients de-clutter their homes prior to listing and I’ve had several buyers ask if someone actually lived the property!” she laughs. “Employing that skill for my sellers has helped them get the highest possible price.”
Conover volunteers with Realtors to the Rescue to promote the adoption of homeless dogs and cats, and she helped plan the organization’s inaugural Bark Ball last year to raise money for the organization’s charitable work. While she enjoys traveling and spending time with family, her clients can always reach her. “I’m available 24/7, even if I’m halfway around the world,” she says. Conover finds inspiration in the daily motivational messages that her managing broker, Jim Miller, sends and is always encouraged by the opportunity to learn from colleagues who are part of the Sotheby’s International Realty family. “I’m thrilled to be part of this internationally renowned luxury brand because it’s helped me become a better Realtor and elevated me to a new level.”
